You must be over 18 years of age, and of legal age to purchase alcohol in your home country, to order from us. By placing an order, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and the minimum legal age for purchasing alcohol products in your country of residence.
Please note that any mail orders received after 12 noon on a Friday will not be despatched until the following Tuesday. There are no despatches made on Bank Holidays.

How to order
Orders can be placed online via our secure order form. Alternatively, you can telephone us with your order and credit or debit card details on 01793 765071 between 10am and 4pm GMT, Tuesday to Saturday.
Order Confirmation
Any order placed through www.whiskyandwines.com constitutes an offer by you to purchase a product from Arkwrights Whisky and Wines, which is subject to our acceptance. After placing an order with us you will receive an email acknowledging that we have received your order ("Order Confirmation"). This does not mean that your order has been accepted. The contract between you and Arkwrights (the "Contract") will be formed when we send you an email notifying you that your order has been dispatched. We cannot honour genuine pricing errors on the website. The Contract will only relate to those products detailed in the Order Confirmation. We will contact you within a reasonable time following receipt of your order, usually no later than 48 hours, to confirm if we accept or reject your order. Where we reject your order and revised terms cannot be agreed with you, the order will be cancelled.

These terms apply to vouchers and promotional codes.
Delivery
For orders received before midday we endeavour to despatch on the same day, providing the product(s) required is in stock. If items are out of stock we will contact you by email or telephone to discuss what you would like us to do. Please note that any mail orders received after 12 noon on a Friday will not be despatched until the following Tuesday and that there are no despatches made on Bank Holidays.
UK
We use Parcelforce, DHL, FedEx or Royal Mail for UK parcels. It normally takes two working days for delivery (not counting the day of despatch). If you require a 24 hour or timed delivery then please select the relevant option at checkout. Please note that orders received after midday will not be despatched until the next working day and our couriers do not deliver at weekends. Deliveries to the Highlands and Islands usually take a day longer than deliveries to mainland UK.
All parcels must be signed for and if no-one will be available at your home address then delivery can be made to your work address. We can put instructions on the parcel on your behalf if you wish for it to be left with a neighbour or in a safe place but this will be at the discretion of the delivery driver. Please note, any parcels not signed for at the delivery address are not insured for loss.
If the first delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the courier will leave a Recipient Contact Card at the delivery address advising where the Consignment has been taken and how to collect it. The Recipient or Customer must, within a reasonable period, either collect the Consignment from the location specified on the Customer Contact Card or contact the courier to arrange redelivery or redirection of the Consignment. If the parcel is not collected, and no arrangments are made for redelivery or redirection, then the parcel will usually be returned to Arkwrights. In this instance no refund will be made of delivery charges.
For deliveries outside the UK, our couriers aim to deliver to European destinations in three to six working days, and to other regions in one to two weeks.
Returns and Refunds, and Complaints
If you have any problems with your order please telephone, write to, or email Arkwrights and we will endeavour to sort out the problem within 3 working days of receiving the query. Non-delivery must be reported to us within 14 days of placing an order so that we can investigate the matter with Parcelforce/Royal Mail. If non-delivery is not notified within this time then no claims can be considered.
If the goods are damaged or faulty when you receive them they will be replaced free of charge, or a full refund will be made. Please contact us within 3 working days of receiving the goods so that we can arrange for the damaged or faulty goods to be collected from you. Where the goods are delivered by Parcelforce you must note any damage when you sign for the goods. Overseas customers should see below for additional information.
Complaints are handled on a one-to-one basis by phone or e-mail, or by post if a reply is not urgent, and we will try and come to a satisfactory conclusion within 3 days of the complaint being made. All complaints will remain confidential.
If you order goods in error, or no longer require the goods that you have ordered, you can return them within 14 days that begin on the day you have received the goods. We cannot refund the cost of the return postage/shipping costs, but we will refund Your Money for the goods within 14 days of receiving them back at Arkwrights if they are returned in an unopened and unused condition. Please contact us to let us know you wish to return any goods before shipping them back to us.
N.B. Please get a proof of posting, or even insure the goods, in case they get lost in transit when being returned. If the goods are lost in transit we cannot refund the cost of those goods but you should be able to make a claim through the carrier e.g. Royal Mail or Business Post. We cannot refund or replace any item that has been opened or used.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Overseas Shipping
Please note that the despatch of goods overseas can only be to the registered credit or debit card holders own address. We reserve the right to request payment by international cash transfer in sterling. We regret that at present we are unable to ship to Canada and we have temporarily halted shipping to the EU and Northern Ireland.
The following additional terms and conditions apply to all despatches to destinations outside the UK
We regret that we cannot guarantee the safe delivery of alcohol or spirits. Where we agree to send bottles overseas it is on the understanding that we do so entirely at the risk of the customer. Parcels are despatched via either Royal Mail, Parcelforce International, DHL or FedEx and we will hold proof of posting that shows when goods were sent out and to which address. Where a signed for service is used then a signature will be required on delivery.
Where necessary, a Customs declaration is filled in and a Commerical Invoice is completed and accompanies the Customs documentation.
N.B. Refusal to pay the local import duties and taxes and/or lack of response to communications from our carrier to the consignee will result in the goods either being:
It is your responsibility to inspect the condition of the parcel when you receive it and to record any findings on the delivery note. If there is damage you must get the courier or Post Office official to authenticate this. We will refund the cost of bottles damaged as a result of inadequate packaging but we must be satisfied that poor packaging is the cause of the damage. Do not refuse or return parcels to us as we will be charged for their return, and we will need to pass this charge on to you. You must notify us of any damage within 24 hours of receiving the parcel. Please notify us of any non-delivery after 10 days of placing the order and within 14 days.
We are not responsible for any duty or taxes, excise or otherwise, that are incurred after the goods leave our premises. Nor can we refund monies for any goods that are impounded for any reason. It is your responsibility to check with your own excise officials what is required with regards to customs clearance and if there are any special instructions to us please ensure they are absolutely clear.
Despatches outside the UK are zero rated for VAT (currently 20%) and this is deducted from the price of the goods. The VAT exclusive price can be viewed on our website.
Sales beyond the UK must not be for subsequent re-sale. Breach of this condition is liable to your prosecution and compensation being sought by the producer and/or your local distributor.
Where payment has been made by credit or debit card we will not charge the card until the goods are despatched.
Where the whisky is presented in a heavy and/or bulky container there will be a surcharge for despatching these so you should tell us whether or not you wish to have the container and we will confirm costs accordingly.
Please note, the shipping prices given below are just a guide as charges vary according to the exact weight of the product(eg: large bottles, boxed products etc have more weight than the standard bottle) and the volumetric size of the packed bottles. You can get a quote on the checkout page once you have added any items that you are interested in to your basket.
The guide shipping costs for the USA include the FDA and signature charge. Duty/customs charges will be calculated at checkout as they vary depending on alcohol level, value etc and can be seen in the shipping quote at that stage.
