We’ve been wanting to run a ladies whisky tasting for some time now, as has our friend Ian Murray of First Drinks, and on Tuesday 22nd June we finally realised our ambition. We had a good mix of both whisky novices and the more experienced whisky drinkers attending and it was an extremely successful and fun evening for all concerned.
Ian presented whiskies from both Balvenie and Glenfiddich (including the new 14 year old Glenfiddich), mixing whisky facts, history and humour together to educate and entertain the ladies in his usual inimitable style. It was great to see everyone sharing their thoughts on aromas and tastes – so much so that Ian did occasionally have to get quite strict with the ladies to regain order!
Thanks to everyone who came along, and huge thanks to Ian for kicking off this new venture – he’s going to be a hard act to follow! Judging by the feedback we’ve had there will even more ladies at the next event (which will be held later on this year) and you can see from the photos below just what a great night it was.
